Fungal Nails
Fungal nail infections, also known as onychomycosis, are very common and can affect people of all ages. They often start as a small patch of discolouration but can spread to affect the entire nail, causing it to become thickened, brittle, yellow, or crumbly. In some cases, nails may lift from the nail bed or cause discomfort when wearing shoes.
Unfortunately, fungal nail infections are notoriously difficult to treat. Over-the-counter creams and lacquers struggle to penetrate through the hard nail plate, and oral antifungal tablets can come with side effects or may not always be suitable. This is why laser therapy has become one of the most effective and reliable treatment options available.
Q10 Laser Fungal Nail Treatment
Our Q10 laser treatment works by delivering short, powerful pulses of light energy through the nail and into the nail bed, where the fungus lives. The heat from the laser effectively damages and destroys the fungal spores, preventing them from multiplying. Unlike topical treatments, the laser can reach deep under the nail, directly targeting the source of infection without harming the surrounding skin or tissue.
Over time, as the nail naturally grows, the damaged part is replaced by clear, healthy nail. Because toenails grow slowly, it can take several months to see the full results, but most clients notice gradual improvement throughout their treatment course.
